March 28, 2006: Costa Pacific Communities, High Street Residential Selected To Develop Two Sacramento Transit-Oriented Communities

Sacramento Regional Transit Awards Two Light Rail Station Communities: Power Inn and Butterfield

WILSONVILLE, Ore. - Costa Pacific Communities and High Street Residential, a subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, were selected by Sacramento Regional Transit, (SRT), to develop two transit-oriented communities at the Butterfield and Power Inn light rail stations. Costa Pacific, a national leader in master planning and mixed-use, smart growth development, and High Street, a top developer dedicated to creating user-friendly urban neighborhoods, have joined forces to develop these two high-density, mixed-use communities.

"The Power Inn and Butterfield facilities are surrounded by underutilized SRT land," says Fred Arnold, SRT director of real estate. "We are proud to partner with Costa Pacific and High Street to develop the areas to their full potential for public use."

The Power Inn and Butterfield light rail stations are on the Folsom line of the Sacramento light rail. The Power Inn site is approximately 14 acres and is adjacent to Granite Regional Park. This site will include an estimated 270 residences within a mixed-use community. The Butterfield site, adjacent to the State of California Franchise Tax Board Complex, is approximately three acres and will be a similar development of commercial, retail and residential uses.

"Costa Pacific and High Street are experienced in developing successful mixed-use communities and are proud to have been selected to develop transit-oriented communities at these sites," says Rudy Kadlub, CEO of Costa Pacific. The developments, Power Inn and Butterfield, are the first true transit-oriented developments along Sacramento's light rail corridor. They will serve the region's growing population by creating places to live, work, play and learn. The communities will offer more transit choices than were previously available while reducing automobile congestion and decreasing air-polluting emissions.
